That's a tough one at that price unless you find a good deal on something
used.

From what I can tell, a lot of students use the Fox oboes.

The Fox Reynard 330 and 333 are very popular. I play with one friend who has
one, and it sounds very nice. Both of those Fox models have resin bodies so
cracking is not much of an issue. They're made in Indiana and Fox has
developed a great reputation.

I'm sure if you do a bit of a search you may find other sources. You may
have to increase your price though, especially if you want a new instrument.
