I used a Seiko which I have just recently lost. Korg still makes pretty good
electronic chromatic tuners, the kind with a digitized needle that will
swing back and forth if you are sharp or flat, and they also have a button
to produce the pitch of whatever note, adjustable by up and down buttons. (I
don't like the harsh electronic tone though.) I can't remember the model
number for sure, but it's readily available at most of the basic
instrumental stores in my area. They're about $35 if I remember right.

I'm probably going to buy a Seiko tuner/metronome this week because it's
small and has a metronome too. (It doesn't beat my good old model with a
swinging arm, but it's much more portable.)

I've got to start tuning an orchestra again. The Korg I had from the
dawn of time has not survived.

Any suggestions for a unit that that will also produce audible
pitches when necessary?
