Dear "New"List:
Although Jim is right in many ways, what I loved today is the return to the
banter which began on a musical theme which I read on this List. Also it is
so pleasing to see that Jennifer is back with us.Since leaving the other
List--she has been writing for worthy musical publications and it will be
wonderful to have expertise among us.
I ,for one,am glad that there is no Big brother, sister or whatever
telling me I can't advertise this or that, can't mention this or that, etc. We
are not schoolkids (or are we?)
In any case,I hope everyone herein will contact 4 persons and ask them to
join this List. I am not encouraging Not joining the Forum--I am a computer
dummie and can't figure out so how to log in--but am encouraging the good
humor, human warmth, sharing common experiences, even kibbutzing for those who
lead this sometimes lonely life of making reeds, practicing in a solitary
room,.taking off to far away places where we don't know anyone or living--as
I do for the 33 years--in a culture where our native language of English is
not spoken.
I have learned so much from the outgoing List and made friendships all over
the world.
The Muncie conference was an example of meeting so many people I would have
never known if it hadn't been for the List,as we used to know it.
I commend the Ishies, etc for their dreaming up these Lists and organizing
these wonderful IDRS conferences, etc but cannot agree that our cyberface rug
should be taken away from us without our consent.
Amen?
Best wishes,
Harold Emert

Subject: [DR-L] Doublereed topics....?
Any chance this list could mainly stick to
bassoon/oboe topics, instead of deteriorating into a
political quagmire? I just wasted time trying to read
through all the drivel and REPEATED messages. Perhaps
this list needs a moderator, as well?? Especially, if
this is going to be the only list in town, other than
forums, let's try to stick to doublereed topics,
maybe?? Peace, Jim
