Richard,
I don't know what kind of "spiral" reamer you have, but I'll bet a new one
is not much more expensive than sharpening. Rieger's is very good. I make a
lot of reeds, and mine is still very sharp after 5 years or more. If you
have one of the older Christlieb reamers, you are probably out of luck
because I think Nowlin is gone, and the new ones are totally different; very
good, but quite aggressive.
