Dear List(s):
Would appreciate any suggestions for contacts and possible venues for a
youth orchestra of underprivileged Brazilian kids who are scheduled to
perform at Queens College ,NYC in September (17).They mostly come from the
favelas--or slum--districts surrounding Rio and this new venture has taken
them away from the lures of drug traffickers into the so-called classical
musical world.
I have suggested to the organizers that they hook up with the Harlem Youth
Orchestra ,among others.As I am away from my native NYC so many years would
appreciate any other suggestions complete with e mails,tels.,addresses.

PS--I am completely against someone changing my habits including the iDRS
List postings but researching Forums today discovered the form of China
Daily newspaper in Beijing (www.chinadaily.com.cn)
Will,Yoshi and other powers who be,the IDRS forum be similar?If so ,the
reactionary within me might be able to accept it.
