Angela,
Perhaps you could wrap a bit of teflon tape around the cork to make it the
right diameter so it does fit in the plastic end cap? The recipient would,
of course, have to be instructed to carefully remove it before using. Until
you get a source for the kind of tubes you want, this might help. Or maybe a
type of rubber O ring; that might be harder to find, but less time consuming
to do.
