Dear Contrabassoonists:

I am pleased to inform you that Bill Douglas, composer and bassoonist,
is in the process of composing a new piece for Contrabassoon and Piano. The
three movement, 10 minute work will emphasize the lyrical quality of the
contra.

The piece is a group commission, similar to Bill's other two recent
bassoon commissions, and all are welcome to join the group. The cost is $120
per
person, and all participants will be part of a one year exclusivity agreement
on performances, before the piece is made available to the general public.

Bill expects to finish the work by mid summer, 2006. I am coordinating
the commission group, so any questions can be directed to me or directly to
Bill (billdouglas@-----.
