Hi all - interesting there has been no recording of the Milde up to now.
Too bad you didn't do that years ago Arthur, do put me down for one as well
if and when you have that out.
The piano accompaniments out there are good and would be nice to hear those
recorded.
The original post asked about similar material...
Well there is a fair amount - the Weissenborn Op 8 are nice although a lot
easier than the Milde (Op 26) concert studies.
Orefici Melodic and Bravura studies are nice and Bianchi is nice as well.
There are some French ones too - Jancourt? Bozza
I think the Milde do shine above a lot of what is out there as they are
really performable as solo works in themselves (as opposed to "exercise
studies" that you would just do in lessons and for practice) and that is
what has made them so popular. That is true of a lot of the others though
I don't think quite to the same extent as Milde.
The Mignone solo Valsas are really nice as well - music has (on and off?)
been hard to get but try Trevco? a number of these are very challenging.
Good topic for this list (wide interest).
Cheers and have fun with Milde. (I remember doing almost nothing but for
about 2-3 years of lessons :)
Isaac
