Dana Maiben, hailed by the Boston Globe for her "supremely joyous artistry,=

and by Continuo Magazine as "high priestess of the Italian 17th century=20
solo," was a founding member of the groundbreaking ensemble Concerto Castel=
lo and=20
in 2002 launched a new ensemble for 17th-century music, Concerto Incognito.=

She is Music Director of Foundling, a Baroque orchestra and women's advocac=
y=20
group based in Providence, RI now in its third season. A founding member of=
=20
Sequentia, nowadays she collaborates on medieval music with Tapestry and=20
Musica Mundana. Dana plays principal violin for Arcadia Players and has ser=
ved as=20
concertmaster for the Ensemble for Early Music's Grande Bande under the=20
direction of Frederic Renz and also for the New York Collegium under the di=
rection=20
of Christophe Rousset, Martin Gester, Paul Goodwin, and Andrew Parrott. For=

nearly a decade, Maiben served as principal violin for John Hsu's Apollo=20
Ensemble.=20
