Some notes on the bassoon are extremely difficult at the lowest dynamic
levels. However, that particular note has quite a bit of resistance on
the bassoon, so it can be played quite softly. It isn't too hard to
make a significant diminuendo on it. It's especially easy if the
beginning of the note is not too soft, with the diminuendo to follow.
It could be a little more of a problem to attack the C# at pp or ppp.
Naturally, if the reed isn't very responsive, then none of the above
would be applicable.
