Hurlstone sonata for bassoon and piano in F major. One of the best
bassoon pieces ever (IMHO). The piano part is not just accompaniment.
The piece is more like a duet.
The Saint-Saens Sonata is also lovely, but depending on what you mean by
'moderately skilled' it may be a bit too tricky. In my experience,
playing with friends is more fun when the music is not too difficult.
Then you can concentrate of making music, not just struggling with the
notes.
Gounod 'March of a Marionette' always sounds good on bassoon, and there
are certainly arrangements for bassoon and piano, and that is not too easy.
There's lots more. Those are just some of my personal favorites.

With a Hotmail.com email address, you could be anywhere in the world, so
it is hard to help. In the UK, I use June Emerson wind music.
