Janie,
Please let me know how about Golijov's Pasion. He born in La Plata (my city)
and we studied music together. He's a wonderful guy.
Eduardo
Dear Eduardo,
I can assure you that Father Bach was snapping his fingers tonight along
with a packed house in the Schwartz Center at Emory University! The performance
was a "magnificat" extraordinarily well received here in Atlanta...standing
ovations going on and on and on and on! The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
string sections offered up twelve violins, six cellos and three double basses all
blending into the primitive voices and gyrations of Latin American/African
brass, guitarists, percussionists, vocalists, and dancers trained in the
Brazilian martial art of "Capoeira." It was a concert long to be remembered here
in the American deep South. The post-concert celebration for the troupe
tonight, including Maestro Spano and Osvaldo, deserves a well embellished expense
account! ;-)
BRAVO to your friend and colleague!
Warmest Regards,
Janie
