If Still really said that about 'that fellow', it's a mouthful ...and
the truth of which is unfortunately not verifiable.

It reminds me of a comment by the solo oboist of the city orchestra
where I live. He was walking behind me after a concert we'd just heard
with Omar Zobeli and Sergio Azzolini. Omar played baroque oboe on the
first half and modern on the second half. The last piece for bassoon and
oboe being a contemporary work involving about 15 pages spread out
across the stage: needless to say, extended techniques without end,
technical fireworks and very respectable sounds... The local oboe hero
commented to the effect, "oh well, he just plays easy reeds"....

THAT explains it I guess.
