Every great composer 'cribbed' from other great composers... and made
what they'd 'cribbed' into something new. Mozart was famous in his own
day for borrowing popular compositions and developing them further, as
was Bach who took the music of others and made his own arrangements of
them. Back then imitation or paradoy was considered the highest form of
compliment. Is this a problem?
