If you can find the Kovar exercises the last exercise would be a good place
to start. I do it at 72 beats per minute. By the end of the exercise you
are doing groups of 8 at 72beats per minute. That's 144 beats per minute
doing 16ths. If you are going to do any late Mozart symphonies, Beethoven
or the Bartered Bride you have to have at least this skill. The last
exercise in the Kovar starts with quarter notes at 72. It divides very
slowly in many different variations of 8's triplets, groups of 4, 6 and then
you warmed up and can realize your true potential. Lawrence Rhodes.......
