Subj: [DR-L] A Berio Question
Date: Mon, 09 Jan 2006 09:18:02 -0500

So, I've begun preparing Berio's little (time-wise) "Opus Number
Zoo" for WW5 and I notice, in the score, it says, "Revised for the
Dorian Quintet and dedicated to Aaron Copland for his 70th birthday
(and, as an afterthought, also for his 51st birthday". Does anybody
know what that means? The piece was written in 1951 and revised in
1970, neither of which date corresponds to either Copland's or
Berio's 51st birthday.
