Thats the word I been looking for, accoustic!! The shape of the bulb adds
this unique acoustic to the sound of the instrument.

As for thickness, I believe the latter possibility you mentioned is the
case. But then the overall thickness of the entire bore of the instrument
has its effect. Some of the Loree models have thicker walls and is believed
to produce a darker sound.

ps: I have no idea why am I answering these questions as I have never
touched any of those instruments with the "bulb" shaped bells!!! LoooL...
Where is everybody?? Pro. Ed Lacy where art thou?? guess everyone is too
busy doing xmas shopping!!!
