I forgot to mention that Dr. Dawson said he had written an article for the
Doublereed and it included an attachment for the thumb rest made of cork
which would position the thumb much like Rhondda wrote about. The article
can be found in the archives, but I have not researched it myself as yet.

If someone does locate the article, perhaps that kind person would reprint
the relevant parts here.
