Dear List,

Do you need a break from CNN and FOX? This jewel is worth the rental
fee...particularly if you speak German! Grab a Pilsner and enjoy!!

"Schultze Gets the Blues"

"Directed by Michael Schorr, the movie tells the wonderful story of a
character named Schultze, a fat coal miner in former East Germany who plays polka
style accordion as a hobby. The closing of the mine sends Schultze and his
buddies into early retirement. As their life dissolve into nothingness, Schulze
discovers, via listening to German radio broadcasts, a way of playing the
accordion which could not differ more from his polka: it is, of course, the
Zydeco music of the Creole people of Louisiana.
