Dear Colleagues:

A few weeks ago, I send a message about a new commission for
clarinet/bassoon/piano trio that composer/bassoonist Bill Douglas was going to
complete. We now have the minimum number of commissioners to go ahead with
the project. If anyone still wants to get in on this, the price will go down
for each person who joins. I'll copy the original message below. I welcome
any and all who wishes to join this great project. Bill is very excited to
start work on this....Richard

I would like to let all of the bassoonists know of a new commissioning
project with composer and bassoonist Bill Douglas. I am spearheading the
project to have Bill write a 16-minute work for clarinet, bassoon, and piano.

With 34 people signed on as commissioners (coming from both the bassoon and
clarinet pools), the cost per person would be $150; the price would go down if
we have more participants. All participants would have a multi-year
exclusivity agreement on performances before the piece is made available for
the general public.
