Hi Phil,
If players play .MP3 files, that's really considered an additional,
non-standard benefit they provide. Standard CD format is uncompressed,
44.1kHz-sampled PCM (generally seen as .WAV, at least on Windows systems).
And standard audio CDs are compiled in a special way that's not recognizable
as a "file system", per se, so you'll need to use CD-burning software that
creates the standard format (most such software performs this task).
