While channel surfing, I caught literally the last few bars of the Firebird!
Shucks!!
They announced that Joe Robinson is retiring after this season. Does that
mean he might possibly be available for IDRS conference appearance? Also the
2nd bassoonist, whose name I cannot recall; sorry. I'm sure someone else
will supply it.

And now my political plug - if you must respond, better do it off list.
As far as public funding for PBS, let them compete like other stations! I
enjoy ad free programming, but would prefer them to have to compete in the
marketplace. Perhaps a cable channel such as Arts and Entertainment would
air ad free concerts if they knew enough of us would watch. I also advocate
free market education in place of government run tax funded schools.
