Yes I thought so too but I never realized the tone was dropping in
pitch a little bit!! The note sounded flatter just when the bumps were
getting started but once he got it to 5 or 4 /second the note was ok.
is that how its supposed to be?
Since we are on this favourite subject of mine, when I play a note
without vibrato I noticed that there is an unstable shake sometimes.
It's like a baby vibrato of a nanny-goat kind. My first reaction is
that it's my out of practise embouchure muscles. I do feel weak in
that area and the reeds always seem to move!
Is all this normal for someone who doesn't practise every single day
and/or is it just my vibrato in it's first few years? (I do have a
decent vibrato though and able to turn it off and on).
