Yes.
I use an old inexpensive diamond "stone" that I bought at Walmart in
1989, and per the excellent advice of Ed Lacey (one of the contributors
to this list), don't use any lubricant.
However, I only sharpen the part of the knife that I actually use to
scrape the reed with: about 1/2 -inch in from the end of the blade.
good luck, and if a hairless arm is your ultimate goal, perhaps
waxing's a better alternative??
