Agreed - though sometimes it would be nice if we didn't take ourselves so
seriously, and also lets double reed discussion back on the list - after
all, that's its ultimate purpose. There is so much knowledge and
experience here, and there are more and more students playing the oboe
family and bassoon. Lets all work on making this list truly global. It
would be nice to get opinions and advice from all players from as many
countries as possible, regardless of the "School of playing"
Yes please don't remove the quote of the day, and lets remember its only a
quote of the day, not a member's personal opinion.
I agree, put on what ever colour string takes your fancy, after all, it
is a rainbow world - and I have learned something I never knew - Oboes
have a sexual preference???????? Well you learn something every day

Self control in terms of what we write on the list is probably the best
bet. Personally I don't mind a good flame every once in a while. And if
it serves to define some of the things that make us passionate,
regardless of subject; be it politics or reed string; then more of it.
Knowing when to stop is the trick.
2: Don't anyone even DARE to consider removing the QOD and its
subsidiaries. Sometimes it's the only proof I have that my email address
still works (aside from offers from off shore drugsstores, mortgages and
various 'enhancers').
3. Rainbow colored string is good for all oboes, regardless of each
instrument's sexual preference.
