Okay, you read the subject line. Last chance to delete before another
political opinion by an actual double reed player gets expressed...

My biggest problem with the Hitler quote is that it's basically a shabby
rhetorical device.

Implying that a politician praising national unity, family and the local
religion leads to genocide or an insane attempt at world conquest is like saying
someone who wears blue jeans could be a serial killer, or drinking milk leads
to heroin addiction, as the old joke goes. I mean, there aren't many
politicians that stay in the business long that don't invoke patriotism and the like at
least occasionally.

Let's try to keep the political dialogue rooted in reality, not down at the
level of "straw man" devices and name-calling. I think, for example, there are
actual recent incidents of incitement against the judiciary that are perhaps
more worth our concern and attention.
