Dear List,
What a protest in Moscow! So, cloning is off and
convention is in and let's all have a protest.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4375215.stm
Not much has changed in the attempts of contemporary
composers of all generations at trying to put on
something new and different. Nothing like a good riot
of protest - soon 92 years (29th May) since the Parisian
fun and games.
I'd be very interested to know if anyone can answer
the above question. Was the Rite banned as such?
Surely nobody wanted to stage it. If there was a ban,
does anyone have any more info about it and when it
was lifted and who dared to impose one?
I love all the titbits about how stupid people can be.
The list of greats who have 'failed' a BBC audition
is staggering :-)
I would be most interested to learn if somebody knows
the answer to the above.
Best wishes and thanks,
Jennifer
