I have 28 forming mandrels that reside on a board with holding holes
large enough to easily place and remove them from the board. I use a
handle with a set screw. The handle has six flat sides so it doesn't
roll. I bought the mandrel handle from Dorothy Nielsen of Edmund
Nielsen Company. It is called Accurate (Satco). Here's a link:

When I wrap and put Duco cement on the reed, I just let it all dry
until it comes off with little effort.
