Dear List:

On the 19th and 20th I will be performing (among other things) 2nd oboe / oboe d'amore in Bolero (Ravel).

Yesterday, I received an email from management that said our conductor has asked that all of the instrumentalists stand during their solo passages. :::rolling my eyes:::

My question is this: How common is this practice? Has anyone else ever performed this piece this way?
