I meant to ask: are these duets nice pieces?
My sister is a violinist, and I play bassoon, so I have considered
either getting them as a birthday or Christmas present for her, or
asking her to give them to me.
I have only ever found two other pieces for violin and bassoon (actually
violin, bassoon and keyboard).
Sonata No. 1 by Gaetano Valeri (1760-1822), which is quite nice, but
definitely needs the piano, who plays an equal part in the piece and is
not just accompaniment. Not too difficult, which is the standard I require.
The Other is Ottava Sonata by Dario Castello (17th century). Slightly
harder, mainly because of the fast tempo.
Both are quite fun, but neither are great music.
