Phil, et al, MUTS is not available in stores- it's custom made on
referral or query through this list- I only
make one after someone contacts me. MUTS relies on a small 7" rod
hinged below the thumbrest at the actual balance point; this
slips into a small funnel on the support that itself is securely hinged
to a naugahyde pad you sit on. Thus it cannot slip at the bottom. When
placed in a floorstand, nothing hangs below the oboe like a post support
hanging off the thumbrest. It all rolls up in the pad. I can send pics
