I agree with you Hinrich. I have always thought it would be better if the
thumb rest was higher. I was quite excited when I bought my present oboe
(about 6-7 years ago) to find that Loree had finally added an adjustable
thumb rest on some oboes. I was completely surprised to see that it only
adjusts DOWNWARD! I've always found the thumb rest too low and now it can
be adjusted even lower. Obviously I did not invest in the model with this
adjustment. Apparently lots of oboists find the thumb rest too high. Are
you & I in the minority?
