Dear Double-Reeders,

Now is the time when many people plan their summer playing experiences! I'd
like once more to draw your attention to the Kammermusik Workshop being held
in Santa Fe, NM from July 24 - 31 this year. This woodwind "camp" - actually
held in the unique and very comfortable Sunrise Springs Inn and Retreat - is
based on the wind quintet ensemble. There are excellent professional coaches
in each instrument. The week includes private and group tuition, ensemble
playing in quintet and other groups and several performances, including a
final concert in the historic Sanuario de Guadalupe in central Santa Fe. The
oboe coach is Claudia Giese, formerly of the Aspen wind quintet, and the
bassoon coach is Ron Noble of the San Antonio Symphony. The head coach is
Lori Lovato, of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and founder of the New
Mexico Wind Quintet. We are planning to expand the workshop this year (from
about 30 to 40 participants) and oboeists and bassoonists are particularly
welcome.

The web site (see below) gives full details of the workshop, which is run by
a nonprofit corporation with a board of dedicated volunteers. I am always
happy to answer specific questions (president@-----. Now
in our tenth year, we believe that we offer a unique musical and social
experience. It is usual for about 75% of our participants to be repeat
visitors.
