Dear all,

Speaking about whether to keep the left thumb on the 1st octave key while
playing 2nd ocatave notes, I think there is a good argument for doing it --
in case the player is faced with an automatic octave oboe. I believe it's
more common to find automatic octave oboes than simple octave system oboes
(which don't have the articulation between the first and second octave
keys). What's your take on that?
