This term probably sounds weird to any of you who haven't been through the
birth process or been a close participant. It just means the baby moves
lower down into position for birth, still IN the mother's body. I always
carried 'low', so never experienced breathing problems. A woman goes through
so many changes during pregnancy and delivery -- it's just so amazing!

I never played oboe during pregnancy, just a bit of flute and guitar. I used
guitar a lot when I was teaching elem. music classes. I always wondered what
kind of sound was getting through to my baby in utero from the back of the
vibrations of the guitar. None of my kids is especially musical, BTW. Except
one likes nearly all kinds of recorded music and has an extensive
collection, and another (as a young adult) has taken up the bass guitar!

I recall that, a few yrs ago, someone wrote in to say she was performing
solo during a concert and her water broke on stage!

Congrats, Ruth. I hope all goes well! Keep us informed.
