Hello to the list.

This is a two month's notice about the Eastern Kentucky University
Double Reed Day on January 15, 2005. Start out the year with a good
reed!.

In addition to master classes for young oboists and bassoonists, Jim
Poe will present a demonstration of his bassoon reed making techniques
and David Powell will demonstrate the techniques of making oboe reeds.
We will have a limited supply of tools and other equipment and
materials for sale for interested registrants.

Bruce McCall will present his hands on oboe adjustment seminar for more
advanced players and for directors and teachers. While this can save
some trips to the repair shop, judging from some current web comments,
this must always be undertaken with great caution.

There will be a performance of all registrants in a massed 'double reed
band' to climax the events of the day.

Final announcements via a url for a web page and registration forms are
being prepared. I just wanted to give anyone interested the greatest
advance notice possible.
