I couldn't have said it better. Did you have the tube installed on the 240?
by a professional? I hear it makes a lot of difference in resonance. If I
ever sold my Heckel, I would buy a 240. I owned 2 of the 601 and three of
three 201. The most recent 201 was a fine bassoon but I cannot justify the
price difference between it and a 240 with a little work done on it.
Have you received the reed? Like it?
