I have the English Horn poster and it does not say on it who the
player is...I just checked, sorry. The 3 copyright dates at the
bottom on the poster all pre-date 1931.

unknown player. I have asked for some clarification about where
the
photos appeared and received this answer, in case it might help jog
another memory or two!

"They are from RCA Victor "Talking Machine" posters from 1931.
They
produced
a series of posters based on instruments of the orchestra."
