Hello All,

Vinegar "the way we buy it" is 5% acetic acid and
95% water. Ceramic tile masons use it at that strength
to remove dried grout glaze from freshly installed
ceramic tile faces. If you google "uses for vinegar"
you will find myriad suggestions, medicinal,
sanitary and otherwise, for this marvelous liquid.
Probably not a good idea to use it to remove gunk
from reeds, though. As Harold E. suggests, a quick
flush under cold tap water works best, followed by
clearing the water by blowing from the cork end of
the tube, after each practice, rehearsal or concert.
It doesn't hurt to flush the reed at intermission,
either.

Best,

john
