Acetic acid (vinegar) is fairly weak the way we buy it. I don't think it'd
cause a hole in fabric. It does dissolve mineral depsits, though I won't try
it on my reeds.

Re vinegar and reeds: acids break down cellulose. Think of what happens if
you spill acid on a shirt: you get a hole. Vinegar is a weak acid, and is
dilute, but it is still an acid.
