Does the Sawicki book cover this?? I don't have it yet.

For a thorough cleaning you will likely have to take it to a repair shop and
have the keywork taken off and have everything cleaned. It's the only way to
get in all the nooks and crannies if the oboe is gummy looking. I've seen
some old ones like that. If it's just dusty, you can get a can of
pressurized air and spray it with that. Check the inside of the tenon joint
parts, they tend to collect dirt if not properly wiped every practice
session.

You can clean as much as you can reach; use a cotton cloth (cut up an old t
shirt or use a clean handkerchief). Not sure what you would wet it with, if
anything - probably a light coating of almond oil on the wood parts wouldn't
hurt, then follow with a good wipe down to get that off.
