Dear David,
I'm so happy to know that my email was of some help to you. Before I
received my reeds from Meg I was on the same boat with you. I made some ok
reeds before but to be honest why bother so much if I can just pick up the
phone and order great reeds for a very good price!!! ( I know many people
will disagree and even throw rotton tomatoes on my face but hey I barely
have the time to practise!!). ;)

Anyways, as for pricing. Seriously David I think $15 for the reeds is a good
deal. Reed's prices in Germany, France, US and even Canada have gone higher
I think. I was surprised when I saw the price for Meg's reeds. I was very
happy. Moreover you can buy 5 for the price of 4 ($60) plus shipping and
handlling. so go for it!!

Strength.....hmmmm....I ordered no. 4 which is a medium. I"m not a Pro but
been playing for 4 years and I think 4 is what most people like. It's a bit
strong in the beginning but then the reeds become softer in a week or so. I
always liked reeds that are a bit heavier when new. This way i know after a
week of playing them they will be perfect. If they dont I usually get my
reed knife and just scrape a tiny bit of the tip. It's better than getting
reeds that are "perfect" when they first arrive and then have them become
too soft after a while!!!

So i guess you have to see what strength is good for you. I'd say 4 if you
have been playing for a long time. If not, maybe 3 is good. I once ordered
Medium strength reeds from France and oh my God I could not even produce a
single note!!! But Meg's Medium is perfect i think.

On a second thought, why dont you call her and just talk to her about it.
I'm sure she will give you better advice!!!
