That's how I learned it too--Fixed Do with different vowels for the
sharps and flats.
Another slight variation, instead of Sol-Fa, it's called Sol-feg (I
thought short for Solfeggio...but I'm not sure)

Anyway, it's alive and well (even though often challenged!) in the US...

PS The variation you seek should be on "SHRUB..." We just need an "R"
