Various stuff at hardware or sewing notions stores (carpet and button hole
twist) would work. I've seen reeds tied with monofilament/fishing line...

I have a little dilemma. I'm on vacation in Northern Michigan and forgot my
reed thread. I heard that you can substitute dental floss, but is there
anything else I can use?
