This may not all be as far off topic as we'd like. I remember spending a
couple of hours at a NY/Canada border-crossing with my bassoon in the 1970's
while a local music teacher was summoned to be an expert witness that all
those pieces were really needed to assemble the instrument and there were no
weapon parts hidden among them. My offer to simply assemble the bassoon and
play it was greeted with a stern warning to keep my hands away from the
case, though this may have been a matter of my musical reputation preceding
me.....
