Subj: [DR-L] Unusual oboe
Date: Tue, 8 Jun 2004 21:01:37 -0400

Dear List
I recently saw a program on TV which featured the Vienna Philharmonic and the oboist's instrument had a bulb shape at the reed end. What kind of oboe would this be does anyone know? I have never seen one like it before. They were playing Schubert, so it must be a modern type of instrument (relatively speaking).

By the way, I love receiving the Quote of the Day. Range wide, range free!

Anton
