Ronald Reagan was responsible for the ill considered deployment of marines in
Lebanon, and more than 200 were killed in one blast. He then had the
survivors leave with no retaliation. He was (literally)asleep at the switch during the
Iran Conta affair (please refrain from the stupid contra jokes)when an act of
the US congress was flaunted by his staff. He cut his eye teeth ratting out
fellow actors (who weren't necessarily communists) during the McCarthy era, and
he declared open season on unions during the air controllers strike. His
words about tearing down the wall were empty rhetoric at a time when the economy
behind the iron curtain was in a shambles. His voodoo economics (George Bush's
description) created the biggest ddisparity between the rich and poor in
decades. I am sorry he got Altzheimers (which was probably already affecting his
judgement when he was president) and I am sorry he has died. But let's not get
carried away.

So if we must endure the quotes of the day, please don't flame people who
respond to them, especially when they are political in nature.
