Subj: [DR-L] Any suggestions for a performer for a recital
Date: Fri, 28 May 2004 12:53:37 -0400

Where I work, the Open University, Milton Keynes, UK, organisers about
six lunchtime recitals each year.

I (along with everyone else on their mailing list) got an email today
from the organisers, saying:

> If you have any suggestions for performers whom you think it
> would be good to invite (and who are affordable) please let
> me have details. If they have a website or you have printed
> information about them and their repertoire we would be
> pleased to have it. It would help to know whether you have
> actually heard them perform.

So if anyone knows any good (and affordable!) double reed players in the
UK who I might recommend, I would do so, since I would like to hear some
good double-reed playing.

I asked for clarification on the affordable part, and apparently they
get a budget of a few thousand pounds to cover all six concerts. I have
no idea what the going rate for giving a recital is, and how this compares.

Obviously, I can only pass on recommendations if I am told something
about the person being recommended.

Tim.
