You guys haven't seen anything yet. These people exist in universities.
Somebody is letting them try to teach. Fortunately, they aren't the
majority- maybe only one in 20.
I have one such professor for Materials of Modern Music this semester.
Rather than supporting the learning process, he accuses us of not having
already learned, becomes angry, and insults us. He's high-strung and brings
us his negative energy every Tuesday and Thursday morning.
If I wake up one day and realize that I'm teaching like that, I'll save some
poor kids from hating my subject for the rest of their lives by quitting and
becoming a postal worker. It's a waste to love something so much only to
make others loathe it.
