Doublereed Archive - Posting 000058.txt from 2004/03
From: Jim Coen <jim.coen@-----.edu> Subj: [DR-L] Important information about the future of DOUBLEREED-L Date: Mon, 15 Mar 2004 15:36:03 -0500
All DOUBLEREEDers,
The Washburn professor who has maintained the DOUBLEREED-L
list for so many years has retired from the university. We
wish Ronn Boyd well as he focuses his energies on new and
exciting things.
This list has a great history and has had tremendous worldwide
participation over a period of several years. There have been
times when the membership of DOUBLEREED-L was in the vicinity
of 1500, although the membership as of this writing is a
respectable 738. In all the years we have hosted DOUBLEREED-L,
it has been the largest and most active list of any of our
lists (which are many).
Unfortunately, in Ronn's absence, there is no music faculty
member here at Washburn who can to continue this great
tradition. My question is simple: is there anyone reading
this message who would be interested in taking the reigns
of DOUBLEREED-L? If so, do you have listserv capability at
your disposal (a university music professor would be ideal!)
If you are interested in discussing this further, please contact
me privately (at jim.coen@-----. Please don't respond
to the entire list!
Thank you for your time.
Jim
